Periodic Elevator Safety Inspections

Every elevator, escalator, and dumbwaiter (conveyance) in a public building in Anchorage has a periodic safety inspection performed by a municipal inspector.

The periodic inspection is paid by the building owner or manager. The owner is contacted if safety problems are identified.

The Development Services Department maintains contact name and address for:

  • The building owner;
  • The billing for the periodic inspection; and
  • The company or individual responsible for the periodic Certificate of Registration.

Contact information updates are necessary when a building is sold, changes management company, is re-named, etc. You can now use this system to review and update the contact information for each building you own or operate.

You may also use this form to notify Building Safety that the priority corrections identified on the periodic inspection report have been completed and are ready for reinspection.

Please enter your eight-digit customer number here. You will find this number on the upper right-hand corner of the invoice or statement for your periodic elevator safety inspection.
